The public relations (PR) industry in India is expected to witness a significant growth during the coming years, mainly driven by digital, social media and content driven campaigns. Industry estimates indicate that the PR spend in India almost double during the next three years. A report by the Public Relations Consultants Association of India has indicated that by 2020 the PR spend in India would amount to about Rs.2,100 crore. In 2016 alone the PR industry is expected to garner about 1,100 crore. The report also points out that the PR drive in India could be lead by the information and communication technology sector, accounting for more than 20 per cent of their revenue. This is closely followed by financial services (12 per cent) and the FMCG segment (9 per cent).
